چکیده

The beneficial effects of exercise on type 2 diabetics have been welldocumented, including restoration of glycemic control [1-3]. At the molecular level, an increase in the translocation of glucose transporter 4 (GLUT-4) following the activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3-kinase), and protein kinases B (Akt) and C ζ/λ (PKCζ/λ) improves glycemic control [4,5]. Thus, chronic exercise prevents or improves type 2 diabetes.

Increased Muscular 5α-Dihydrotestosterone in Response to Resistance Training Relates to Skeletal Muscle Mass and Glucose Metabolism in Type 2 Diabetic Rats

Regular resistance exercise induces skeletal muscle hypertrophy and improvement of glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients. Administration of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a sex steroid hormone precursor, increases 5α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) synthesis and is associated with improvements in fasting blood glucose level and skeletal muscle hypertrophy. Therefore, the aim of this study was ...

The Effect of Resistance Training and Endothelial Stem Cell Injection on Skeletal Muscle Oxidant and Antioxidant Status in STZ-Induced Diabetic Male Rats

Background: Because insulin therapy cannot properly control the progression of diabetes and its complications, other alternative therapies may be desirable. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of resistance training and endothelial stem cell injection on skeletal muscle oxidant and antioxidant status in STZ-induced diabetic male rats. Method: In this experimental study, 36 male...

The effect of resistance exercise on oxidative stress in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissues of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Abstract Background and Objective: It has been shown that oxidative stress increases in diabetes and it has an important role in its development and subsequent complications. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of acute resistance exercise on oxidative stress in skeletal muscle and cardiac tissues of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Twenty male ...

Simultaneous Effect of Resistance Training and Endothelial Progenitor Cell Injection on the Expression of Vegf Angiogenic Factor and Its Relationship with Insulin Resistance in Diabetic Male Rats Induced By Stz

Background: Exercise and the simultaneous use of progenitor cells is a new strategy aimed for reducing diabetic disorders. One of the known mechanisms is angiogenic disorders caused by diabetes. Therefore, the present study was performed to determine the simultaneous effect of resistance training with endothelial progenitor cell injection on the expression of angiogenic factors in the skeletal ...

Metformin and exercise reduce muscle FAT/CD36 and lipid accumulation and blunt the progression of high-fat diet-induced hyperglycemia.

Derangements in skeletal muscle fatty acid (FA) metabolism associated with insulin resistance in obesity appear to involve decreased FA oxidation and increased accumulation of lipids such as ceramides and diacylglycerol (DAG). We investigated potential lipid-related mechanisms of metformin (Met) and/or exercise for blunting the progression of hyperglycemia/hyperinsulinemia and skeletal muscle i...
